Italy is the EU's third-largest economy with one of the most active public procurement markets in Europe. The market has historically been fragmented across thousands of contracting authorities but is rapidly centralising through ANAC (the national anti-corruption authority) and the digital platform Acquisti in Rete / MePA. The new Public Contracts Code (D.Lgs. 36/2023) is a major reform aligned with Spain's LCSP, making Italy one of the most structurally similar markets to Spain for Tendios.
